Descrizione progetto

This project aims to maximise the impact of the fight against HIV/AIDS in Guinea and answers two of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals: to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages and to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

The project intends to improve the health of more and more HIV+ people and give them access to high quality care free of charge. The main beneficiaries are pregnant women who, through activities aiming to raise their awareness, are offered counselling and screening. HIV/AIDS tests are offered to the members of the family of patients who are already under treatment, as a way of identifying new cases early.

The project is increasing all the activities carried out by the four health centres supported by the Community of Sant’Egidio, in particular the DREAM laboratory in Conakry, which is a reference point for the diagnosis of HIV/AIDS for the whole region.

Areas involved: Conakry, Dubreka, prefecture of Coya
