Last week, a delegation of the Community of Sant’Egidio, which included a representative of the association “Mulheres para o DREAM”, met Mrs Bush during a visit of hers to Maputo. Mrs Bush was accompanied by the First Lady of Mozambique, Mrs Maria Dai Luz Guebusa, who introduced the delegation by describing the loyalty of the Community in offering support and assistance to her country.

Mrs Bush then showed an interest in knowing more about some aspects of the DREAM programme, such as the treatment of children and women. She later listened to the testimony shared by some campaigners. At the end, she thanked the Community for its commitment in Africa, underlining the importance of the compassionate love that accompanies the work and produces extraordinary results. The meeting closed with a group photo and a promise by Mrs Bush to visit one of the DREAM centres in the continent in a next visit.
