An international training Meeting between representatives of the Sant’Egidio community and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paoli was held in Paris from Jan. 18 – 22.

The Meeting was held at the Superior General House of the Daughters of Charity in Rue du Bac, close to the famous and much-visited sanctuary of the miraculous Medal.

Over the years, the Community of Sant’Egidio and the Daughters of Charity have established a felicitous and fruitful collaboration which has allowed for the development of DREAM in various African countries.

Together they operate DREAM centres in Mozambique, Nigeria, Camerun, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo and are about to open another in Tanzania.

The Meeting was a great moment of sharing for the two families who are united by a common passion for the poor and for Africa and whose vision of today’s problems, far from being characterised by resignation, is instead one that looks to the future with trust.

This was the premise for the Meeting’s five days of hard work, analysing the problems concerning the different African DREAM centres and asking how best to live and face the opportunities and challenges that the coming years will present.
