First anniversary of DREAM in Kinshasa: one year of work, of encounters, of life! One year, in which more than 1.600 people passed by, confirming that the center is the great point of reference for the test and the treatment of AIDS throughout the eastern part of the huge Congolese capital.

A little less than 1 in 6 people found to be HIV positive and begun treatment. Among them Anna, aged six, who followed much of her journey this year with DREAM.

She is the “mascot” of the center that has become her home and family since she was sent away from home, accused of being the cause of her parents death. Unfortunately for them, at the time DREAM wasn’t there yet. But not for Anna who, in the DREAM Center “Floribert Chuwa”, has rediscovered her smile, her health, and the hope of a different future.

And with her many other patients, more than 370, who were surprised to find out how the free and qualitative care, as well as the friendliness and professionalism of those who supply it, may indeed be a good reason to believe and hope for a country with a better future.

Best wishes DREAM!
