On March 17th, was signed in Maputo a collaboration agreement between the DREAM program and the INSSP (National Institute for Social Security) for the treatment of HIV positive civil servants and pensioners of the Institute.

The DREAM program will follow employees of the Institute and at the same time will carry out AIDS prevention and awareness meetings with INSS officials.

For its part, the INSS will provide the nutritional support needed by the patients.

The National Institute of Social Security in Mozambique supports workers in situations of lack or in case of loss of employment and their family members in case of death. In addition, the health and social work of the Institute is geared towards financial assistance and investments in public or private institutions operating in the health and social sector. The treatment of officials affected by HIV / AIDS will support vulnerable cases, ensuring the best health conditions.

The agreement with the DREAM program will also help to spread a different culture and provide a new hope for life, even in HIV-positive people.

Currently the INSS Maputo consists of more than 14 thousand pensioners and 160 employees.

The hope, says Edilson Munguambe, delegate of the INSS for the city of Maputo, is that such an initiative could be extended to other areas of the country to create a virtuous circle of information on the fight against HIV / AIDS.

The agreement represents a further step forward of the Community of Sant'Egidio in Mozambique in helping and supporting AIDS and the stigma linked to it.

At the same time represents the recognition of DREAM as a model of care accessible to all and replicable throughout the country.
