Continuous Training for a Sustainable Health System in Mozambique

This three-year project (2025–2027) strengthens the quality of care in 12 health facilities by investing in the professional development of healthcare staff and ensuring continuity of services. It focuses on strengthening the health workforce to respond to both communicable diseases (HIV) and non-communicable diseases, without disrupting service delivery.
The Intervention

In-service training and on-the-job mentorship in wards and laboratories

Short, frequent training modules (classroom sessions, side-by-side coaching, expert visits, internships, and onboarding for new staff)

Training calendars and needs assessments updated every six months

Technical coordination with the Ministry of Health and provincial health authorities
Objectives
Overall objective: to contribute to the achievement of SDG 3 in Mozambique, with a focus on strengthening the health workforce (target 3.c).
Specific objective: to improve the management of HIV, hypertension, diabetes and cervical cancer in the 12 health facilities supported by the DREAM programme.
