THRIVE – Tackling Hunger, Supporting Livelihoods and Revitalising the Economy in Southern Malawi
Descrizione progetto
The THRIVE – Tackling Hunger, Supporting Livelihoods and Revitalising the Economy in Southern Malawi project was developed to improve food security, strengthen livelihoods and ensure access to health services in the most vulnerable communities of the districts of Blantyre, Chikwawa and Mwanza.
Through an integrated approach that combines sustainable agriculture, community training, nutritional support and climate resilience, the project aims to address the severe impacts of recurrent famines, floods and economic crises that periodically affect the country, disproportionately impacting women, children and persons with disabilities.

Strengthening the resilience of rural communities
Promoting sustainable agricultural practices and efficient irrigation systems to reduce dependence on rainfall and increase food productivity.
Supporting vulnerable households
Ensuring access to seeds, small livestock and agricultural tools, improving household income and food security.
Promoting women’s empowerment
Engaging women in productive and decision-making activities, fostering economic autonomy and equal opportunities within communities.
Improving nutrition and health
Integrating nutritional and health interventions to reduce malnutrition rates and strengthen maternal and child health services.
