On 4 and 5 December, a DREAM delegation will be in Dublin to attend a conference (organised by the World Food Program – WFP – with the support of USAID and the Irish Cooperation, Irish Aid) aimed at drawing up guidelines to be recommended by WFP. These guidelines would be followed in the context of delivering a nutritional – apart from other aspects – response to challenges posed by AIDS in developing countries.

Entitled “Food Assistance Programming in the Context of HIV/AIDS”, the conference is an important undertaking for the setting up of a common reference framework for nutritional intervention. In fact, the objective of the guidelines is to improve the response capacity of national health systems, international agencies and non-governmental organizations in the implementation of diverse food security programmes set up in environments characterized by the spread of HIV infection.
