On August 22, during a parish visit to the Sagrada Familia, the new bishop of Quelimane, Mons. Ilario also visited the DREAM Centre.

The coordinators, Honoria and Fernanda explained the various activities and work carried out in the centre.. Honoria underlined that “our commitment is to welcome those who are sick and to give the needy courage and hope”.

Fernanda spoke about the history of the DREAM Centre: “This health centre has a long and complex history but is now managed by the Community of Sant’Egidio. We have a new start ahead of us and this fills us with hope”.

The bishop visited the entire centre and blessed each room and the food storeroom.

At the end of his visit, he spent more time with both coordinators and staff present, in order to gain a better understanding of what their daily work actually involves. At the end of this discussion the bishop said: “I thank you for your commitment and encourage you to continue on this path. I am profoundly grateful to the Community of Sant’Egidio for their work for Africa”.
