On February 5 2011, Dr. Victor Makwenge Kaput, Minister of Health, accompanied by a delegation of leaders of the National Health Plan, visited the DREAM center in Kinshasa.
The center, about to be opened, consists of a large day-care for the sick and a large molecular biology laboratory to monitor infection by HIV/AIDS.
The Minister was highly impressed by the functionality and the size of the structure that can accommodate a large number of patients and meets the needs of a city such as Kinshasa, which counts more than 10 million inhabitants and an estimate of more than 500.000 AIDS patients.
He has also pledged to support DREAM by facilitating the arrival of antiretroviral drugs for the start of the activities and to speed up the last bureaucratic procedures so that the center can open as soon as possible.
At the end of his visit, the Minister gave an interview on National television, reiterating the importance that the alliance with DREAM will have in the future care of the patients in the country.
