This project answers two of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals: to end hunger and to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all. The project, run by the Community of Sant’Egidio, is for boys and girls, who are the most vulnerable part of the population. It aims to guarantee food security, that is, nutritious and sufficient food for their needs and also to encourage education for nursery school children. The Community childcare centres play a fundamental role in achieving these goals. These centres are not only committed to fighting malnutrition by distributing high quality food, but they also offer the boys and girls educational and play activities in a welcoming context. The project also includes activities for the local community for raising awareness on food education and on the importance of education.
