Guinea also celebrates the Worlds AIDS Day on December 1st.

In coordination with the National Committee for the fight against AIDS (CNLS), the day was celebrated in the prefecture of Dubreka, where DREAM has recently opened a care center.

The celebration really began in the DREAM center, which all participants and authorities wanted to visit.

Together with the leaders of the CNLS, were also present the Ministry of Communication, the representatives of major international agencies such as UNAIDS, UNICEF, OMS, USAID, some executives of large companies such as Total Guinée, the director of the Central Pharmacy of Guinea, the directors of the two large National hospitals, the prefect of Dubreka and other representatives of the Guinean authorities.

The ceremony was also attended by several associations and also by Miss Guinea!

The Ministry of Health, on behalf of the entire Government and in particular of the Prime Minister, expressed his satisfaction for the cooperation with the Community of Sant’Egidio and, as a symbolic gesture, he wished to donate two tons of rice knowing how DREAM, besides dealing with the therapy and the evaluation of laboratory parameters, also supports its patients under the nutritional point of view.

The donated rice will be offered to the patients of the DREAM center of Dubreka, who are all pregnant women benefiting of the nutritional supplementation for the entire period of care in the vertical prevention program.

The gift, much appreciated, expresses the esteem and gratitude of the Guinean government and the will to continue more and more the cooperation with the DREAM Program in the treatment of AIDS patients in Guinea.
