Scaling up diagnostic capabilities in Malawian laboratories

The aim of this project is to increase the diagnostic capabilities of the Malawian healthcare system. The strategy is based on implementing the Community of Sant’Egidio’s laboratory activities regarding the viral load, HPV and resistance tests. In addition the DREAM staff and volunteers carry out important awareness campaigns aimed at spreading information on preventing cervical cancer, the importance of adherence to the treatment, on the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, but also in order to increase people’s awareness of the universal right of access to care.
