It was a joyous moment at Balaka Dream Health Centre on Friday when Rotary Club of Blantyre donated drugs worth K20 million to be used in the
Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTC) intervention.

Clients and members of staff sang and danced to the donation, which they said will go a long way in improving lives of women and children in the
district.

Dream country director Elard Alumando said the health centre is in a PMTC campaign that currently has a success record of 99 percent; hence, the
centre prioritised the availability of the drugs when seeking assistance from Rotary Club.

"We have 3000 people that visit this centre every month out of which 300 are PMTC patients. We are holding a success record of 99 percent which we
submit to the district health office. We are very grateful to Rotary Club because they saw it within themselves to assist us in this cause. We ate
not in competition with the govermment, but we are there to help them because we know they cannot do it on their own" said Alumando.

Rotary Club of Blantyre vice president Joseph Chavula said they made the donation as one way of helping the poor, which is one of the club’s
objectives.

Meanwhile, the club’ on Thursday inducted a new member, Malswitch network ICT manager Sosten Chigalu at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.
